Great Lakes Log Cabin

Since the railroad no longer runs through Evart, the Depot has been converted into city offices and meeting rooms. The railroad bed has been transformed into the Pere Marquette Trail, part of the Rails to Trails system, providing recreational opportunities for hikers and bicyclists to enjoy nature in this part of Michigan. The Great Lakes Log Cabin quilt block symbolizes the beginnings of Evart as a logging community. The block was designed by Judy Martin, and is used with her permission.
