Stamp Basket

In 1978, the US Postal Service issued a 13 cent stamp commemorating quilting and featuring designs from an antique basket quilt. That stamp design was used to create a quilt block for the Post Office in Tustin, Michigan. We tried to be as faithful to the original design as we could, within the limitations of a very small picture to go by, and the medium of paint rather than fabric. Thanks to postmaster John for his help in making the frame and installing the block.
